George, if that 'vette truly is a Baldwin Motion car doesn't the price sound a little low even in it's current condition, especially from someone who claims to own two others and should know the going rate?

    Thanks.

I agree the price seems low, why not restore the car and then flip it for $$$$ rather than let it go for $15,000?

I have seen this car advertised in the past in both Ebay and Craig's list so it has been floating around for awhile. It seems a little strange that if he is an expert so to speak that he wouldn't put some effort into documenting it and pumping up the value. I would be very apprehensive of this deal.

Perhaps the cost of the "additional parts" will pump up the overall price to where a rough, but real, Motion car might be.
He mentions the rear widow; did all Motion cars have that? How difficult will it be to find a window and rear deck?

If I had a dollar for every 'possible Motion car' that comes up for sale on the intraweeb, I'd have enough money to buy a real one. Maybe that's why Rosen charges a grand to look through his records, hoping to scare off all the pretenders.

Alan, they could be be ordered with or without. It was an "option". Also, individual parts could be purchased.

As a collector of everything Motion Performance, I can tell you this is most likely an Eckler's kit car. For those that are looking to buy this car as a real Motion car, it certainly has the appeal, but it is imperative to justify before the purchase whether or not the modifications had anything to do with Motion Performance. Lets set a few facts straight.

                1) Not all shark body Corvettes that went to Motion Performance were outfitted with the GT rear window. That was a part of the Phase III package.

                2) Joel Rosen now charges $1,500 for documentation and even then he does not have paper on every car he built.

                3) A Baldwin Motion car could only happen if the car was sold out of Baldwin Chevrolet. The term Baldwin Motion is different than Motion Performance.

An NICB report or a piece of factory documentation will reveal the selling dealer.
