    Fuel line

Does anyone know if it is possible to repair a steel fuel line short of complete replacement? If not, is it possible to replace the line on a 67 convert. from the tank to the fuel pump without removing the body?

    Thanks, Bob

    Re: Fuel line

If the line is leaking/weeping, I wouldn't even THINK about attempting a repair! Why?

These lines were typically Bundy dipped steel and they can rust out from BOTH the outside in as well as from the inside out. So, if a given line is leaking in one visible area, it's probably true that other sections of the line aren't that far behind in terms of corrosiion!

Can you replace the line without fully removing the body from the frame? Answer is yes. Some have done the job by being clever and carefully bending then re-bending, but I wouldn't suggest that. The typical 'rate buster' method is to unbolt the body from the frame on one side and CAREFULLY jack the body off the frame by JUST ENOUGH to gain clearance for the R&R job.
