C3 Derby Cap Stainless Retoration

Can the stainless base of the center caps be disassembled and restored. Caps are getting pretty pricey. Mine are intact but have lots of minor dents.

Most anything can be 'de-dented' and 'restored', but the question of whether or not to go that route typically boils down to one of economics. On the 'restoration' path, you're looking at a labor intensive process and the final cost depends on restorer efficiency + his shop labor rate.

One approach that some have reported sucess with is cracking open your Yellow Pages and looking in the musical instrument repair section. Almost everytown, USA, has a high school replete with a marching band. Kids often drop/damage their brass instruments (trumpets, tubas, Etc.) and shops about who are equipped with various tools to de-dent and polish out metal instruments with complex geometries...

The center caps can be disassembled. There are four, I believe, small bolts on the back side that can be removed and the top hat portion will separate from the outer ring. You can look in the Driveline for persons who can restore the stainless portion.
