    HeadLight Bucket Adjustment

On my 1970 my drivers side headlight in the up position does not sit flush with the body it is lower then the right. I tried playing with the adjustment last night but I must be doing something wrong. I was moving the actuator out further. Any tips.

One of the upper limit stops is on an arm on the outboard side of the headlamp assembly. A long threaded bolt with a rubber cap on the end. Turning the threaded bolt will change the upper stop within some bounds. The spring assembly is designed to go over-center when the actuator is fully extended (I think it is extended, but it might be retracted -- I have to work from memory). You might check the headlamp pages in the AIM -- there is an adjustment procedure, but it is to align the headlamp beams -- not the physical position of the headlamp assembly as i recall. There also might be an adjustment procedure in the FDM (Factory Service Manual), but I don't have one here at work to check for you.
