    Final chapter in the restoration

Well gang, I know I posted already on the END of the story for my car, but here is a little more detail. I finally had some time to put some more pictures and words up on the web.

Here are the two most recent installments in Project Sting Ray.

Thanks much! I knew the car would do well in judging, but it is always good to get that affirmation.

I am, thanks. I had the biggest smile on my face last Saturday. ESPECIALLY once I cleared the Ops section.

                Chris,

                Looks Great! Congrats.

Just curious, what are some of the "minor" items needing to be corrected? I am half way through getting my 68 restored for judging.

Yeah, on the documentation, geeze, you'd think I had an L88 or a grand sport or something....but no, all I have is a "big block delete" car.

                      Minor items....let's see.

My #207 coil for the TI ignition system? The judges couldn't see the part # so I got a deduct. The part # is there, it is just underneath the bracket holding the coil to the intake. So I need to reposition it somehow such that the judges can see it.

The spring that is supposed to go in the tail end of the gas filler boot overflow tube? Yup, it's there, but yours truly pushed it too far into the tube. So, the judges couldn't see or feel it. So, they deducted for it.

Driver's side door lock isn't working right.

License light failed somewhere on the trailer ride from MN to IA. Need to troubleshoot that.

                      I can go on.

She looks pretty in pictures, but there are a multitude of small details like this to sort out before she goes to Regionals or Nationals.

                        Chris,

Your car looks beautiful!! One thing you may want to look at is the heater hose "T". I believe in the AIM it shows the T fitting on a 45* angle and the hoses look better running that way..
