67 Hazard Flasher Capacitor at Fuse Box

Does anyone have a picture and description of the correct 1967 hazard flasher capacitor at the fuse box. Thanks.

    Kirk -

Nope. There is no capacitor used for the hazard flasher - only for the turn signal flasher.

John, suppose you had a '67 with radio delete...would it have a capacitor or not? Thanks, PT

Hint: there's no such thing as a 'radio delete' option. The base car came without a radio. All of the radio related RF 'hush up' capacitor components are bundled and called out with the U69 option defined at the end of the AIM.

So, no radio, no RF capacitor on the TS flasher...just like the AIM defines.

Thanks for clearing that up Jack. What was I thinking?

            Thanks.

So, I need to understand something here. I get this NCRS criticism about my flasher and now I am not sure what the heck they are talking about. What controls the flashers? Is it the yellow unit on the driver's side radio side panel, or is there something else? Thanks.

Kirk- The turn signal flasher is the unit mounted on the radio side panel (see Item 9, UPC 12, Steet B1 of the 1967 AIM). Pete

Re: 67 Hazard Flasher Capacitor at Fuse Box

I've got it now. I thought there was a turn signal flasher at the radio panel AND a hazard flasher at the fuse box. The Hazard FLasher at the fuse box is what I'm trying to learn about. Which "model" would be appropriate for my 16,469 corvette built in April of 67. If I'm getting it right, it seems the embossed rectangular natural finish Tung-Sol 552 would be correct.

Now all I need to do is find one!

Kirk - The Hazard Flashers used in 67 based on the S/N of your car, would either be the 552 Tung-Sol having the top embossed top w/ Tung-Sol, 552, etc and it would have a natural metal finish round can cover or the Signal-Stat 175 (as in Patrick's picture) having the top embossed w/ 175 & SIGNAL-STAT and it would have a green anodized rectangular box metal cover.

That's covered in your copy of the 1967 Judging Guide book. See Interior, Item 14, Under Dash.

TS Flasher= Non-DOT Yellow Plastic Tung Sol 323 or Non-DOT Signal Stat 145

Hazard Flasher= Non-DOT, natural finish, Tung Sol 552 or either a Non-DOT Signal Stat 170 (gold tone case) or non-DOT Signal Stat 175 (greenish tone case).
