Would like an opinion RE: A pretty suspect Vin plate. See e-Bay listing # 180407901803 67 Vette Green rag top, Non-numbers car. Tried to get a staight answer outa this guy regarding the vin plate. Not my first time at the rodeo. But how is this legal or is it legal? Got an H on it to boot and Corvette at the top? Let alone the rest of it. Thanks

"Not Typical Production"
Even State assigned VIN tags appear closer to original.
Doubt it would pass any government inspection.

Looks hand made to me. Hence no rosette rivets.I live in Mass and don't believe its legal in this state, I believe it is called "altered tags."

Re: Suspect 1967 Vin number
Very interesting. The body build dates looks like F21(not a great picture). The body number is A-0862. These two work well with each other by others AO Simth convert. trim tags I have seen. The big problem besides the homemade vin tag, is the vin# should be in the 9000 plus range not in the 4500 range. That only makes it off by about 4500 cars. Would be interesting to see the vin# on the frame.

Re: Suspect 1967 Vin number
I see that this car did not meet the reserved but did reach $28,700 and had 15 bidders. I guess the owner is still looking into the home made vin tag and the fact that the vin# is about 4500 cars away from the body #.

The guys a true piece off work. Hopefully someone won't get stuck with a car "Legally," you'll ONLY be able to park in your front yard like a potted plant. Till the true owner shows, to lay claim to what may be their old stolen Vette.- Top

Re: Suspect 1967 Vin number
I'd sure hate to show up at the state patrol barracks in Ohio to get the paperwork approved on an out of state title. I'd get to go home, but the car sure wouldn't.Bill Clupper #618- Top
