I own a 1963 Sebring Silver Corvette Roadster. The original interior color was red. When I bought the car the previous owner had started a conversation to black including painting the entire dash area. I now want to take it back to the original red. I have a purchased a complete interior kit (Seat covers, Carpet, deluxe door panels etc. I need to get the previously painted red dash pads and molded centre dash cover and all the mouldings back to red. I was hoping not to purchase these new but to remove the black paint and repaint the entire dash area red.
Questions:
1. Any there any general comments on this big change?
2. What is the NCRS standard for the pieces that bend around to the door jam that are part of the dash?
3. Do these get painted red also or should they be body color.
4. Should they be riveted or? Should the rivets be painted and if so, what color?
5. What is the standard RED dash color to use
Any help or advice to get this dash back from black to red would be greatly appreciated
