    No C2 turn signals!

Both front and rear (left and right) turn signals have stopped working! No click and no flash. Both brake lights (left and right) still work, and all parking lights still work. And the emergency flasher system still works. Any suggestions?
Thanks very much - Scooter (32911)

On C2 cars there were only two years where an emergency flasher function was available, '66 and '67. In both years, the emergency flasher was separate from the turn signal flasher.

Have you checked your turn signal flasher for proper operation?

      Scooter,

I'm assuming it is a 67. From your sympoms, it sounds like a fuse in the signal circuit, or the signal flasher is disconnected or defective. If you have hazard lights flashing front and rear, and your rear brake lights work, it has to be something in the signal feed circuit, to the signal switch in the column. The rear brake lights, hazard lights, and directional signals all use the same element of the 1157 bulb.

On a 67, the signal flasher is mounted on the driver side radio side panel. Sometimes the connection at the signal flasher works loose. That's the first thing I'd check. Then the directional signal fuse. Also, the ignition has to be on, or to accessory, for the directional signals to work.

Symptom can be the result of several things including a turn signal RF capacitor whose fische paper insulation has deteriorated resulting in the lead wires making contact to the TS flasher's metal mounting bracket thus short circuiting the flasher. That's why I suggested starting at the flasher to inspect and verify operation...

          Thanks for the reply Jack,
How do I test the signal flasher for proper operation?

Connect the 2 poles of the flasher together with a jumper. If the lights come on (they won't blink) when you select left or right then the wiring is intact and the flasher is bad. I assume you've checked the fuse.
