Source for Ken Kayser's book on Rochester FI?

I've searched online and the only source I can find is Tachometer Press who are selling signed, numbered copies for $250. This is a bit rich for my budget - can anyone point me to another source for Ken's book that is hopefully less expensive?

    Thanks,
    Eric V.

Eric, that's the publisher's website. Believe Ken still has some paperback copies left. If you don't get an answer from your e-mail please send me an e-mail with your contact info. Gary....

That sounds like the price for a HARDbound copy!
Quite honestly, if there are ANY hardbound copies left, I'd highly recommend biting the the bullet and get one!

This is the hardbound with the sleeve that it comes in

          And this is the softbound.

Hi Tom, As you well know Ken only had 100 of the hard bound books printed. They sold out immediately.
Ken had me on his want list for one. Mines #65. What's you number Tom?

Hard to believe Tachometer Press would have these copies for sell unless more than 100 were printed??? Course they were the ones that printed the book in the first place so who knows.
Probably the best book on FI's I have ever read.
Suggest to the gang here that at least they buy the $80.00 copy.
Ken spent most of his life on this book you know. Go for it. JD

              John,
I have a hardbound copy number 21 and a soft cover one also.
The softcover one is showing some wear as I refer to it often.
A great reference book on early FI and well worth the money..

PS, my 4360 #136 is pictured in the books.

                Eric;

Try this link. When you go directly to Tachometer Press web site, the hardcover pops up. Hit the catalog button, and you can also see the softcover at that point. This is a link to the softcover book.

thought this was interesting. The Tachometer Press is dedicated to publishing a wide variety of works on automobile history. It was founded in 2007 by Ken Kayser.

I know that it's too late now, but Ken was at Carlisle this year selling signed copies of his book. Great guy to talk with about the early FI units.

Does your 4360 unit have an RPD tag?

                      My unit #132 ( #32 ) does not...and is cold steel stamped.

                          Joe,
My 4360 has the RPD tag and is also steel stamped on the back of the plenum. Ken thinks it was right around the tarnsition number from steel stamped to tags. See page 474 of Kens book for pics.
I have gently tried to lift the tag with no success as it is possibly stamped under the tag.
It runs and starts fantastic in both hot and cold weather and once we got it sorted out it is a pleasure to drive. It's an early Powerglide car.

Since I have a 56 Vette with a 7011956 FI unit, I got Ken to send me hardbound #56.
