P02 paint question

I would like some help with my P02 wheel covers. I refer specifically to the cast finned section. I have searched the archives until I am dizzy.

Does the outer ring on the cast section have paint? I have several that look like flash chrome, slightly yellow. I have one that is painted a flat black color.

I have them apart and am not certain which way to go, paint the ring or brush off the black and leave them the flash chrome look. Anyone with an original picture? Thanks

The same gloss black that is used on the "disc" is used on the ring you speak of as well as in between the wider ends of the fins themselves.

Thank You. The wheel covers with just the yellow chrome must have had all the paint gone over the years. At least I had one to show me some difference and ask the question.
