53-57 body drop question

Before putting the 54 body back on the chassis I'd like to install everything I can on the body. To put the rear bumper on the two bumper braces that attach to the chassis have to be installed inside the trunk. Factory assembly photos show the rear bumper was on prior to body drop but I'm concerned that having the bumper braces installed will complicate locating the body on the frame or cause some metal-to-metal contact that will damage the frame paint.

What are your thoughts on putting the rear bumper and braces on before installing the body?

i'd definitly wait till after the body and frame are married before installing the rear bumper brackets. mike

Thanks for your thoughts. You've convinced me. I was anxious to button up all the work in the trunk area. But it seems best to wait.
