67 SB ignition "L" or "E" bolts help

Hi there all. I am looking for an original "L" or "E" bolt for my ignition shielding. I am having trouble finding one (actually I need 2). A friend of mine has some timing cover bolts that are original and are "L" bolts. Anyone know if they are the same size, length, etc...i.e. if they would work on my ignition shielding? Even if they are too long, I could always cut them down, but I would like to know if their other characteristics are the same. Any help is ALWAYS appreciated. Thanks. ARA

Thanks RIch. I will give them a try. You know off the top of your head what finish the ignition shielding "L" bolt is supposed to be? His timing bolts are raw finish. I assume they would be plated to more match the chrome of the shielding itself. I will have him send them to me. I still have plenty of time to send them out for plating if need be as January is a bit of a ways away. Thanks for the post Rich. Regards. ARA

        Ara -

That bolt is zinc plated, and has a captured external-tooth star washer.

I'm lucky, I had an EL bolt as the top bolt on my ignition shield for a late June 67 S/B. Here it is sitting next to a Paragon repro:

Repro on the left , original on the right.

Had a wingnut on it for about 25 years. Then I got the repro after getting dinged at my first judging event. Then one day I was rummaging through my old toolbox, and there it was.

The one in the picture was replated, of course.

John and Jerry, thanks for the info. Very much appreciated. I am getting down to the nitty-gritty and you guys are super helpful. I will get the timing cover bolt from my friend and have it replated. He is sending me 10 bolts, so if anyone needs one let me know. I can bring a few to Kissimmee if anyone needs one for judging as well. thanks again all. ARA

Jerry, I found a member who has some original shielding bolts, and has some EL bolts like yours. I bought a few, already replated. Thanks for you help, as always. ARA
