Peppermint oil works well, I get it from the market and leave an open container and a cotton ball soaked with out in my utility shed and it drove the little monsters away. It also made the room smell good (if you like peppermint)

        Car Capsule..

No dust - rust - critters - condensation - damage.

Been using this one for 11 years and could not be happier with it's performance. I replaced the washable filter once for about $10.00.
I bought another one 4 years ago for the 2006.

          Nice snake!

Now that I think about it, I did'nt have any mole problems in my yard when the snakes were in my garage. I wonder if they lived in the garage and occaisionally went out to eat.

At my last house I had a problem with groundhogs sleeping in the garage. Here is one under my C-5. If it ain't one thing, it another.

Looks more like a Muskrat than a Groundhog.

I wonder, how long to remove ? and how long to put it back in place?
                Thanks

My son just started a car for the first time in 5 months. Smoke from under the hood, mostly from under the (Miata) exh. shields, appeared to be burning spider webs!

Shields removed and re-installed. Lots of concern about a rodent nest, or oil problem, but now appears to be OK. It's been driven over 50 miles since.

                    To remove the car:

                    1. Unplug the fan
                    2. Unzip the zippers that run along the bottom between the clear and bottom base plastic on each side from the front to about the front wheels.
                    3. Hold up the unzipped clear plastic in the front of the car for about 5
seconds to allow the air to escape.
                    4. Unzip the zipper the rest of the way on each side to the rear of the car.
                    5. Fold the plastic back about 4 times and remove from the car at the rear. It is attached with a seam at the fan area.
                    6. Get in and drive out.

One Person about 5 minutes .. 2 People about 3 minutes
Experience will shorten the first time that you do the process.

                    To put car back in:

Reverse the removal steps and plug in fan. Takes about 10 minutes to fully inflate and then you can throw a 5# hammer at the car and never touch it.

D-con Bait Trays. When I lived up north I stored 3 C2's in a metal building and D-con works. They dehydrate and there is no smell.

                        Re: CRITTERS making homein interior

I came home from a long trip after the '65 had sat for about a month and noticed what looked like snail trails on the shift console. Couldn't figure it out. Cleaned it up and fired her up and went for a nice February spin. As I was bangin' gears, this mouse came out from under the passengers seat and jumped in my lap and then onto the floor beneath my feet!

Speaking of cats, I was having kittens!!! I tried to step on the little creep, but are they ever fast! I pulled over and opened up both doors and it jumped out.

When I got home, I discovered how much damage to my firewall jute had been done to make a nest almost the entire well under the passenger seat. Looked like the intake manifold nest of jute from an earlier post on this thread (but times 4).

I use Victor spring traps with Skippy peanut butter on the bail tab. "Chunky" as a matter of fact. Works every time. I don't use glue traps since the mice suffer so. I don't use poisons. I had a VERY bad experience with a stinking, juicy dead mouse that fell on me as I was pulling insulation down to find the source.

Since I sealed my garage and installed new doors, I haven't seen the little criminals. Good luck. It's an on going battle.

                        Mike

For the past 7 years I have used D-Con (correct, dehydrates and no odor) and moth balls along the door openings under the cars, and all over the garage, and the past weeks the snake I can't seem to catch.

I've used D-Con before but I still got a smell. They also crawl into tight places to die and I was concerned about what would feed on the carcas as well as the potential for disease.

I like traps because they're accessable (as is the mouse), thier effect is immediate, they're cheap, reusable, and you won't poison something that you did'nt mean to. You also don't have to feed them.

                              John,
Have you had any issues with the paint on your car from using the car capsule? I want one but want to make sure that the lacquer paint does not have any issues from lack of air?

We moved out in the country ten years ago, and I've never had a single mouse in the garage, and have never taken any active steps to keep them out; I don't think they like the solvent-based industrial epoxy floor. Had a couple in the basement once or twice, but never in the garage.
