    C1 Shifter Knob

I was wondering what a Group 4.006, Part # 3747685 white knob fits. Is it a shifter knob? My parts books are a 1977 and 1983 and this number doesn't show up. It does list a 390749 as the shifter knob for a 55-62.

Dennis the C1 assembly manual doesn't show any numbers for the Tenite shifter knob. If I recall there is no number stamped on the C1 knob either. I actually think there is no numbers on the entire shifter lever and knob. Stewy

Dennis, if you look at the AIM for 1958 Section 7 sheet 3.00 you will see quite clearly that 3747685 is the original # for the shifter knob ball. This is on the 3 speed instruction sheet.

I looked through the AIM and found the 4 speed section but it never had the numbers on it. But your correct 3747365 it is in the 3 speed section. I wonder if the 4 speed ball is the same dimensions and thread as the 3 speed ? Stewy

I can't find the shifter lever number. I would love to know if the shifter knob and lever has a number on the actual part. Not just the box. Stewy

Thanks for the responses. I did check the Assembly Manual but only the four speed information. I have arranged the pages by sections so I don't have to go through the whole thing everytime I look up information. The three speed page is way to the back. Late last night I got hold of someone with a 1959 parts list and he confirmed the part number is correct for Corvette and pasenger cars.

Roy, you need to sell yours on ebay. An NOS one just went for $212:

Not sure if it is even correct, it has a moulded ridge around the middle.

Ian and James I can't tell you I'll have to kill you if I do LOL.
Do you know it took me about 2 hours to find his name again and when I got it out of the site I thought I bet someone asks me where they can buy one from. So I will tell you but just give me a day or so I'm under the hammer here ! Neal also makes an exact replica of the shifter as well. I haven't seen one personally but I will be buying a full shifter mech with rods that he makes very soon. He tells me it's impossible to tell the difference they are perfect. Around $400 bucks for the shifter and knob assembly. So don't go out and buy a ebay one that's pitted for the same price. (Ian I asked Paragon if they sell Neals shifter assembly and they said yes how do you know him they asked) So if your discount still exists with them it's cheaper through Paragon. I'm not sure if they sell his knobs ? I would ask but I'm not talking with Paragon at the moment after buying thousands of dollars worth of parts from them they tried to sell me a T10 for 4k plus shipping. So I sent them an email that had several 4 letter words in it and then they wont reply to any of my emails after that !! Stewy
