trying to locate original owner of my 58, anyone got any pulls to get info?

I'm trying to get the phone number for Ronald H Cooke. The address I have is 1848 Westridge Cape Girardeau MO 63701. I'm trying to get some information on a 58 vette he use to own.

I have that name and info on some old docs to the car he is the original owner.

if anyone can get me some numbers to try that would be awesome, someone was nice enough to help me on here awhile back to track down the original owner of my 68 and I got in touch with her which was pretty cool!

wanting to do with same with this 58 if possible I tried online searches etc and even had a couple guys PM me some numbers to try no luck yet.

I did send a letter to the last address I found the net showing up but it was returned to me

update: found the original owner and talked with his wife he passed away last dec.

she was thrilled to hear that we had his car and plan to restore it, she said she married him after he had sold it years and years later but that he always talked about wanting another one.

if I did my math right he bought the car new at age 18..

anyway she sent us a copy of a picture of the car when it was new or nearly new parked outside at his driveway! just shows the front of the car but still thought that was pretty nice of her to take the trouble to send.

            Hi Dennis,

I tried the autoancestry.com website, it's run by fellow NCRS forum member Bill Gould. My Dad bought the '67 that I'm currently restoring back in 1976, and Bill was able to track down the previous owner based on the information I filled out on his website form. We have run into sort of a dead-end tracing the ownership back to the next previous owner (circa 1971), but the person my Dad bought the car from 33+ years ago has been a great help in answering lots of questions about the car, and he lives close enough that he's going to come see it, hopefully soon.

Bill Gould did a great job, and also spent several extra hours trying to help me figure out the damaged "Dealer Code" section of my tank sticker, not to mention all the emails he replied to and reading through all the information I sent to help him locate the previous owner.

There's no guarantee of results of course, but it was great to have someone with experience in these things helping me.

The initial evaluation/consultation is free, just fill out the form on his website, telling him everything you can think of that might be helpful. In my case, he was able to find the previous owner in a few days, so I'm sure glad I decided to give it a try.

            Scott

I have recently been tracing the ownership of my brother's 1962 Corvette with the paperwork he left in a file that I have. It shows bill of sales or titles back to 1967. Names and addresses that I used on AT&T Anywho to find phone numbers with. The 1967 owners phone was disconnected or not in service but my brother's wife helped with her membership in Intelius. It showed us his new address that he has moved to and a new phone number. I called and had a very informative and pleasant talk with him. He agreed to send me any and all paperwork and pictures for the car. Unfortunetly the dealer he bought it from is out of business now so I am still in search of the original owner. He was told by the dealer that a "kid" had the car and was beating on it so bad that the kids father took it away from him and sold it to this dealer. Also he told me that when he had the car it was a fuel injected car. That is how he sold it also. With an RE code it was not that way originally so I am interested in how it went from carb to FI back to carb. I will check out this web site and see if they can help.
              Thanks for the tips!
