Finish on frame cross members: same as frame or semi-gloss?

I have looked thru the judging guide and a couple restoration books and can't find what finishes are used on the cross members for my '70 automatic. Starting from the front, there is the 'boomerang' that sits underneath the radiator support, the removable auto transmission cross member, the removable rear end support cross member, and the tank support brace. Does anyone know if these parts should be semi-gloss vs chassis sem-flat? Steve
