I recently bought a set of '67 rally wheels for my '65 coupe. Can anybody tell me what is the largest size frt/rr tires that I could put on my '65? I want the larger tire/wheel look, but, I don't want to comprimise the turning radius and definitely don't want to damage the frt fender / rr quarter panel flanges. I've heard that Goodyear Eagles, 215/60R (frt) and 225/60R (rr) would fit, but, would like to confirm before I buy them. Or, is there another Manufacturer's tire that would fit better? Can anyone help, or, point me in the right direction to find out for sure? Thanks.

Re: '65 Tire / Wheel Size
Ray,
When I first bought my 67, I installed Goodyear take offs from a Eldorado as my friend owned a dealership. The size is 215-65 and they looked good on the car. I had a little scratch when entering a drivway apron bump one time but other than that no problem..
I am planning to run 205 75 when I put the rally's back on.- Top

Re: '65 Tire / Wheel Size
Tim, Thanks for your reply. Did you have any problems with the 215/65 tires on the rear? I been told that the parking brake cable bracket could interfere with the inside of the rear tires, as they could be a little too wide. . . .- Top

Re: '65 Tire / Wheel Size
Ray, I don't recall any issues with the rear tires. It's been a long time ago and I never paid much attention to checking for clearance like I would now..
