Here is the real deal correct original oil stick I posted about a while back for 55 265 engine only .There not that easy to locate any more and this is NOS ,so if your going NCRS jump on it.
I dont see them vary often on e-bay, I have some so dont need it, just trying to help follow 55 owners.

What is the difference between a 55 Corvette oil dipstick, and a 55 V8 passenger car dipstick?

There is no difference between Car or Corvette 265 oil sticks . And the oil stick tube ! Each are smaller in size 265, a 283 oil stick will NOT fit in a 265 oil tube (see pic 55 tube) look close at the 265 oil stick (top one) and a 283 you'll see the 55 is thinner.

One more reason a 265 Corvette engine is unusual, hope this helped you understand the differences

It looks like everone that has a 55 must be looking at it. The count of lookers on this thread is up to 82. I started the bidding off.

No way there are that many 55's here ! people must be bored and the JM dont even mention the oil stick anyway! this was just for us guys

I once owned a 55 Bel Air 2 door post with a 265. Wanted a reminder of what I owned when I was 16. The engine was proof that Chevy SB don't need a lot of oil pressure.
