The suffix "FO" was not used on any Chevrolet V-8 engines according to the Lime Book which covers from 1955 to 1991.

Most F.. engines were used in light trucks. I don't see a specific code for FO though.

Can you check again and make sure it isn't FD. Block casting number would also help.
