I'm putting the motor that experienced the "black Death" back together. It Dyno'd yesterday. Today I'm putting it back in the race car and I looked at the pilot bearing. It needs replacing. Has anyone used the roller pilot bearings? Good or bad suppliers? Jerry

if you use one make sure you dial indicate the bell housing center hole and bell housing face because they will tolerate no run out. make sure the the trans input shaft that fits into the bearing is not scuffed up in any way

Input shaft is good. I use centering pins on the bellhousing and get within .006 inch. Will that do it?
