COMPLETE VERSION: When We Were Young With Our Corvettes - Chapter #30

We swing onto Hwy 101 for the 20 mile trip south to San Jose, exiting off Lincoln, jogging around Belmont and then down Winchester Road to the
Mystery House arriving just as the Museum is opening. We buy our tickets and the guide takes us first on the House Tour.

            Bill,

Been hesitant to post while reading the other chapters. I have to tell you that while I am reading, you really do take me back to a place and time I have never been. (I am 48, And now have 2 Corvettes 67 & 09). Your stories are truly mesmerizing and you actually have me thinking I was born at the wrong time. Never took your survey on publishing before. You can sign me up now!

              One of your better chapters.

You know it's good when your reading with a grin on your face lost in the Chapter, as if your there... and then an audible chuckle at the final sentance...

Then the Fiance asks, "what are you reading?" which snaps me out of the trance I was in reading it. One she noticed me having.

I honestly don't read much for recreation, but when it trances you like that, and you escape all that's around you, you know it's good.

Make the chapters all similar to that one, with an entertaining story line, a Mystery girl, the Vette and a Funny quip at the end to tie it all together and you'll have a book.

John, John, Francis, Tom and Steve:

Thank you for the very flattering words.

One more Chapter and Book I goes to print. Hope you don't mind that poetry like: "Night Love Sweat Dries Before Dawn"...as appealing as that sounds... probably won't be in the next episode unless of course the Vette goes to SC Berkeley, where the girls don't shave but do weed.

But how am I supposed to know where the Vette takes us next.

WOW!! I agree, this chapter has to be the best.
I spent 2 years in that area (68 & 69) and never heard of the Winchester House. Wish I had been able to check it out.
                      Wonderful read. Thanks
                      Jack

You left out a bit of John Ralston history...

John Ralston (born April 26, 1927), a graduate of the University of California, played linebacker on two Cal Rose Bowl teams before earning his physical education Academic degree in 1951. He spent three seasons as an assistant at Cal before being named head coach at Utah State University in 1959.

When I was at Cal, there was a song about "turn-coat Ralston, the dirty son of a b...."

And if the woman didn't shave and did weed...I didn't remember it. Like they say, if you remember the 60's, you weren't there...

                        Thanks, again for sharing!
