    63 convertible window felt

The replacement trim piece with the felt has much less curvature than the original piece (and the top of the door panel). The front of the trim piece fits the panel wel, but the rear of the trim piece is approximately 3/4 in off (low) due to lack of curvature. The only way I can think of to match the curvature is to make several cuts near the rear to allow it to bend. Anyone else had this experience?

I replaced mine several years ago. I didn't think the replacement part had any curve at all. I think you need to take the old original part and trace the curve on a piece of plywood. Set some nails along the curve and bend form the new part to the curve.

      Thanks.

I guess all of the reproduction parts are prety flat. To get the curve in the back, I snipped the edge below the felt in several places and this provided enough "give" to get the proper shape.
