    '65 Front Grill Removal

How hard is it to remove the front grill on a '65 Sting Ray? It looks like I must remove the bumpers to do this. What I want to do is polish the hidden areas of the trim surround and it is VERY tough getting to these areas with the grill in the car. The sharp edges cut up my hands.

I lost 1st place at a prestigious Corvette car show because the backside of the shiny trim, NOT SEEN FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR, showed between the open hood and the nose of the car. As in NCRS Top Flight judging, the details separate the winners from the others. -Clark

Yup bumpers have to come off, which means you run the risk of scratching the paint on the parking light panels. A helper is highly recommended, or use a LOT of blue tape.

I just looked at my car and it's pretty ugly back there too!

But I think I'll just put on some mechanix gloves and do it in place with some Simichrome. Should be able to avoid the usual blood offering to the Corvette gods.
