    61/62 Doors

I just bought a '61 project car. The doors do not have the holes for the cove trim. Are the 61 and 62 doors the same? If not, can the cove trim be mounted an a 62 door?

    Sandy -

The '61 and '62 doors are different - the surface where the bright cove trim attaches on a '61 is flat, and that same surface on '62 doors has a raised, pointed feature line; you can't install '61 cove trim on a '62 door.

If your doors are original to the 61 the hole were probably filled by a prior owner. If so it should be a simple matter to locate the filled holes from inside of the door and open them up. Rich

I have a 61 door in california. I am willing to sell it if you need it. It is just a core with no interior parts. Also, I will have some left over parts from my 62 project. Just thought I would pass it along. It is a passenger door. (just one since the other one is quite messed up. The other side is a outside shell only.

58-61 and 62 doors are different. 62 doors generally sell for more than the others.

I know 61 doors are longer than 59 doors (not sure about 60) since the door end caps are longer. That makes the 61 doors special.

Sandy the doors are also very different on the inside panel as to the way the armrest or door pull bolts to the door. Scott
