A Question about staple color

I'm sure this is in the 67 JG, but I could not find it. Are the staples that secure the splash shields blacked out or are they silver colored? Thanks, Bill

They were painted black as part of the Blackout procedure.

If you're painting them after they are in the car (highly recommended, since they are hard to work with), you'll want to wipe them down with some acetone or something to clean them off. Otherwise, the paint won't stick to the staples at all.
