    1966 Heater hoses

I have a 66 coupe with a 327-300hp engine. I want to put on new heater hoses. They sell ribbed hoses with the GM logo, (red on the 3/4 and white on the 5/8 hoses) or ribbed hoses with no GM logo. Which hoses are correct for my car? Thanks for any info......

The 3/4 hose should be ribbed NO marking, the 5/8 hose NO ribbed with GM& square box, white, red, yellow. Now I have to agree with some that both hoses have ribbes and NO marking, I have judged Bow Tie cars and have seen them this way. Some venders hoses are not correct in the marking of the GM& square to close together be carefull.

      Larry,
The fourth edition '66 Judging Manual states the following (p85):
Heater hoses are black rubber, may have GM printed on them, and may have either ribs or grooves to serve as supplier source identification. Generally, the 5/8" hose is non-ribbed, containing "GM" and a square box symbol (vender identification) occurring at 1-3/4" intervals. The size of the "GM" and the square is 5/16 inches in height. The 3/4" hose is four-ribbed with no "GM" identification." It further states that, "Original hoses have a smooth texture. Current reproduction hoses have an orange peel or cross hatched texture which is not correct. The ribs on the original hoses are not all the same width. On original hoses, one of the ribs is twice the width of its three neighbors. Current reproductions have ribs of the same width."
I'm not certain that the statement about the reproductions is still accurate. I replaced the hoses on my car (probably from LIC, but I'm not sure), and as I recall, they were pretty close to the judging guide description. Unfortunately, the car is in the shop and I can't conveniently check.
      Good luck!
      Jeff
