The '65 base engine alternator is on the right side, unlike '66-'67 which is on the left. The '65 lower alternator bracket is total different from '66-'67. It is attached with two bolts to the side of the exhaust manifold and is a AIM installed part. It is not shown as a 1965 engine plant assembly part.

In '65 base sb the alternator and both braces are assembled after engine painting. So the exhaust manifold shows orange paint signs but the '65 alternator and braces should not.

The A/C and non-A/C alternator mountings are completely different in '65. The non-A/C mounting (on the passenger side) is as you noted, but with A/C, the alternator moved to the driver's side, and mounts exactly as it does in '66-'67. See the '65 A.I.M., section C60, sheet C2.

I just wanted to cover '65 base engine with no air as it is a different animal compared to air car.

Yes, I do know of the difference you described. I think we covered all the air, no air sb '65 and '66-'67 so there is no confusion on the alternator lower brace.
