Hi. This is my first time on the forum. I am also a new corvette owner. My 93 has the # 32109 stamped on almost everything. The rims, glass, and on all kinds of engine parts . I bought this car off a NCRS member. Can some one tell me what this all means? Thanks .............Frank Silveira

Re: 93 coupe 40th anniversary
Welcome to the NCRS board !
Probably a dealer "etch" deal sold to the original buyer. The number was probably stamped on all major parts and registered with a company who recorded the car's VIN. Kind of an anti theft deal. Etched parts don't sell well in the circle of stolen parts !To be simple. It was just a way to put a serial number on components. Done quite often by big city dealers.

Re: 93 coupe 40th anniversary
Before NCRS and I was living in Dallas my 70 was just a few months old when all of the wheel trim was stolen, later a thief removed the same from my 68. Used a etching tool and put my drivers license number on all the replacement wheel trim. I know that the etching would not stop any theft, just a means of identifing my stuff if a thief was caught with the stolen goods. Still have the etched wheel trim on the cars today but I don't live in TX.Last edited by Jim T.; August 14, 2009, 06:01 PM.- Top

Re: 93 coupe 40th anniversary
Thanks for all the info, and I would like to thank the previous owner of this car, Peter (a member) for steering me in the right direction with NCRS. Right now the weather is great, I think I will go for a cruise.
Thanks Frank Silveira- Top
