1973 Strut Rod Finish

I,m restoring the rear suspension; anyone have a good precess to get a correct look on the struts for judging. I plan to glass beed them today,I know this need work to get that forged finish. If anyone has a finish sheet/chart for the rear would also be great. Thanks!

You'd think that after 30yrs of restoration, someone would have put together a spreadsheet of all the finishes for each part and bolt.
But I haven't seen anything.

I don't find the JM all the useful.

I started a spreadsheet on my own, filling in as I see posts but it's only a start and I have no way of knowing whether it is completely accurate.

Ideally, this forum should have a FAQ with this info on it.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for these comments. I know it's a lot of work and each yr may be different, etc.

I'm currently totally redoing my 73.

I doubt anyone will flame you, I thinks it's a great idea. As always it just takes a volunteer to do the grunt work then a volunteer group to do the editing and cross checking. Anyone up for it?

There was a string recently from someone re-doing his strut rods and the interesting attempts to create the forged finish. I'm sure a search will bring it up.
