I am finishing resto on my 67, and when I tried to engage the wiper motor, nothing happened. I can hear the washer pump solenoid click when I push the knob in, but wiper motor does not work at either speed. The switch is ok, and I verified continuity b/w the plug on the dash and the connectors on the wiper motor/pump. There is some measureable resistance on the motor, so I think the windings are intact. I have the three wire plug (yellow, brown, light blue)oriented with the yellow wire closest to the firewall-and have read that this is correct. If I indeed have to remove the assy, I at least have yet to install the glove box, so that will help in accessing the mounting bolts, but do I have to remove the distributor, or can I just remove the cap in order to get the assy out? I really hate having to re-stab the distributor. BTW, this is a BB car. Thank you in advance. Brawley

Re: Wiper Motor Issues
After hours of wire checking, switch checking, and muttering several expletive deleteds, I finally figured out why my wiper motor was not working. I decided (as a last resort) to remove the wiper transmission arms from the back of the motor and see if it would work without a load, and wonder of wonders it worked perfectly! The driver's side trans arm movement was impeded by some of the under dash (blue) insulation, and it was enough of a preload to overwhelm the wiper motor. I removed said insulation and now all is fine! So beware when placing the insulation so that you don't have to go thru what I did. Brawley- Top
