    461X heads for 62

What would be a current range of prices for a nice unmolested pair of bare (no valve train), properly dated, 461X heads for a 62? I am looking for a set and have found two heads. I have no idea of what I should expect to pay.

Not as much as you might think.

They are only popular with serious restorers, so there is little demand for them, and there seems to be plenty around. I have heard 100-150 dollars for a complete assembled set that have not been recently refreshed.

If the inlet valves have sufficient margin, they can be ground, but I would replace the exhaust valves. The rest of the OE equivalent valve hardware is inexpensive.

        Early (pre-January) or late heads?

            Greg,

The late 1962 heads will have the rounded humps and should be less money.
