1970 Tele Steering Column Parts

Hello to all and a very good evening to you all... I am working on a 1970 Corvette Tele Column and I am in need of some plastic parts. The key warning buzzer was not working anywhere near correctly so I had to take the column apart... and guess what... brittle plastic flying everywhere. The ring that set right under the horn contact spring that insulates that spring and goes around the clip that holds the steering wheel lock ring in place exploded and the actual key warning buzzer switch was in 3 or 4 pieces and completely unusable. These parts are not listed by any of the Corvette parts retailers and I need these to get that buzzer working correctly and not have the horn honk all the time after I put it back together. Please advise me where these parts can be purchased and what other cars may use the same parts. Best regards to all, RicK

Richard and Paul; that switch on the website looks identical to some original ones I have, I thought I cornered the market on these 10 or more years ago when I purchase all posible at gm dealerships that EVER stocked them. I ended up with 7 or 8 and at least one was made out of a more flexible white plastic but the others were all clear. I still have 4 or 5 left. At one time they were very valuable; as much as $125.00 each was quoted to me from the steering vendors. The most I paid for one was about $23.00 from a chevy dealer in Canada. David

Thanks Chip... I found the Key Warning Switch but I think I'll need to contact him about the 5-fingered plastic insulator that the horn spring sets on... I didn't see it on his list but I'll bet he's got it. I do a lot of column work and this will be a good source for parts!

The plastic c-clip retainer is GM #7808385 and can be ordered at any GM dealership. It is also available through most Corvette suppliers.

It is good to see that a repo key buzzer switch for 1969 through 1976 T&T columns is available after many years.

The model year icon selection in the "Post Icons" at the bottom of this page is useless for a part like this. The retainer is used on 1969 through 1982 T&T columns (and possibly later years as well) but you are allowed only one click. Multiple allowable years would be most beneficial.
