Who is Smart Parts? They have a huge tent at Carlisle every year. They don't seem to have a web page.

Re: Smart parts Carlisle
the owner is Kent Renken, Smart Parts is located Mason City IL. Kent is by far one of the most pleasant vendors around. I found quality parts with prices below all other vendors. he also has the big tent @ Bloomington Gold.- Top

Re: Smart parts Carlisle
Just your typical restoration type parts, brackets, lenses, pulleys, small parts, etc. Everything is neatly organized/displayed on rows of pegboard. Fill up your cart and head to the checkout like at the grocery store (I don't think they actually have any carts however).

Re: Smart parts Carlisle
They are usually at Knoxville ,now Sevierville Tenn.. I have bought a few things that I saw on the boards. Seems to be OK quality. No catalog or website seemed odd to me also. I probably wouldn't purchase anything I couldn't hold in my hand to look at. Chip.- Top

Re: Smart parts Carlisle
Their are only a few of the big vendors that bring parts to Carlisle and have done so for years.Lots of big vendors took orders delivered orders and passed out catalogs. PA started enforcing their sales tax law that reads if you sell goods in PA 3-7 days during a year(I'm not sure the# of days) you must charge sales tax on all packages sent to a PA address all year.
This rule kept some vendors from bring parts to Carlisle last year if they went to the spring show. If a vendor sells less days in PA than the law they only need to charge tax while they are at the show.
I think smart parts could be a on the road vendor only but sure has a nice display and carrys most everything.Lyle
