Ok I've done some homework but want to get in depth on this to make sure I match it to my car the best I possibly can to be correct. My 68 is a fairly early 68 built car inside the door jam on the drivers side it is dated D07 I think that means Nov. 7th of 1967? I guess this is the date I match parts up to?
looks like a correct alternaotr for my 68 427/390 4sp is model number 1100693 which is a 37A model.
I found one dated 7K2 which I believe says Oct./ 2/ 1967
is this a good match for my car? an ok match..or a very good match? It would make the alternator dated 1 month and 5 days before the D07 build date of my car in the door jam.
if it's not perfectly dated for what is most typical, what would be a good date? and I believe you don't count the "I" on electrical components thats why the "K" makes it Oct.
also is there other ways to see if your car was TI besides the distributor and holes in the fender well, which I have never noticed any holes so I assume mine wasn't TI.
thanks!
