1978-79 Vin Tag

Would like any info on how to acquire a new vin tag for a 1979 Vette that was stolen, but recovered, minus it's vin tag, any help would be appreciated.

And, you want a new VIN for what reason?

GM discontinued its policy of replacing faulty/missing VIN/trim tags via dealer/zone dealer request the last time I checked...

Most every State has a proceedure to generate a State-issued VIN tag and that's 100% legal with appropriate audit trail. At NCRS, we DO recognize State-issued VIN tags and judge cars so equipped without penalty...

If you are looking to buy this car, I would have the owner take care of this issue before taking ownership. ( State Issued VIN )

Depending on the state in which you live, it can be a nightmare !
