'63 Carb to Air Cleaner Gasket

Can anybody offer details about what a correct gasket would be for an early 63 with the 300 horse engine? I have see various gaskets that could work - black rubber, whitish paper, etc. but I can't seem to find any comments about it in the judging guide. Thanks in advance,

Good question Seth. I think I've seen them all for my L-76 as well over the years. With stock air filter (oil soaked foam), I'd be inclined to think a neoprene would be best. Those suckers sweat enough oil as it is which gets into the valley, and I'd rather burn it off than have it contaminate the carb.
