    67 BB oil pressure line

Does anyone have a good picture of how the oil pressure line runs from the engine block connection to the firewall gromet? It is on a 67 L36/ 390 car, 4spd,pb, specifically where the coils of the steel line are located? I checked the AIM and it doesn't give me, at least mine doesn't, any placement or reference point.

    Mark,

the coils should be at the wiper motor recess just as it bends to go down the firewall to attach to the fitting in the block. Sorry no picture right now. But the coils were desinged to be at the 90 degree bend and act as a shock absorber between the motor and the gauge.

      Rich,
Thanks for the info. To make sure I understand this, the coils do not go against the vertical part of the firewall, behind the valve cover. But go in the wiper recess' horizontally. In other words, if I was to look in the engine compartment the oil line would screw front (front of recess)to back ( black grommet)

        Mark,

the best way to describe this is the coils are at the middle of the bend. So you will have some on the horizontal leg and some on the vertical leg. There will be a coil in the wiper recess and a coil along the firewall behind the valve cover.
Just imagine the coil section is a "Slinky" when you bend the slinky in the middle you will get a right angle. Now keep in mind this is how I have seen most originals. I'm sure there could be an example of a car with the bend before or after the coils but I don't recall seeing it that way.

              Del,

This is a repro line on a L-71. It should actually be shortened on the vertial section and the coils closer to the firewall and the bend more in the coils and not on the vertical section.
