Thanks for your comments. I currently live up here in the Catoctin Mountains next to Camp David, so that might be part of the problem. I've always lived in Maryland. When I was a kid, I had an AM transistor radio and at night I could get WBZ radio in Boston and WABC in New York...I liked to listen to Cousin Brucie!

Patrick, If you have Serious/XM radio you can still listen to "Cousin Brucie". He is on either the 50s or 60s channel. I listen to both a lot, but at the moment I can't remember if he moved from one to the other. He sure brings back a lot of good memories. I gew up in St. Louis listening to "Johnny Rabbit" and his sidekick "Bruno J Grunion" on KXOK am 630. In 1968 while stationed at Fort Bragg, NC I could listen to St Louis KMOX on "skip". Back then it was good to hear what was going on at home when I could get it.

I'm betraying my 65 years, but I now recall the disc jockey at WKBW Buffalo NY -- it was Dick Biondi (sp ?) This must have been mid 50s to early '60s.

Jim Trekell, I also got KOMA, 50 Watt OK City and another "Lousiana Hayride" from Sheveport I dont remember the call sign. dale
