Installed Repro 4 Speed Shifter on rebuilt T-10 on my 63 SWC during body off restoration. Adjusted everything so it shifts properly - moves through neutral without a hitch, finds each gear where it should - no problem. But, the lever itself is positioned very far back in its travel. When in first or third the lever is straight up in the console. When in second or fourth, the lever is very far back in the console opening, so far back that it is touching the rubber boot and almost touching the metal console itself. Sometimes doesn't go fully into second because of interference. Lengthening the shift levers by an equal amount each would seem to fix the situation, but wouldn't that throw off the neutral gate? The shifter itself can only be mounted in one position on the tailshaft as there is no adjustment with the three mounting holes. Anyone a clue about how to help? Thanks

Re: 1963 T-10 Shifter
You apparently have either a T10-7 or T10-7A three-boss extension housing. '63 Corvettes used a T10-7D extension housing, which had five mounting bosses for the shifter, to move it forward compared to the three-boss housing.- Top

Re: 1963 T-10 Shifter
I do have the proper T-10 7D Tail housing, but apparently mounted the shifter on the back bosses. Is the relationship between the front pattern of bosses the same as the rear? In other words, will the shifter bolt up to either? When I referenced the three holes, I was talking about the three in the shifter cage, not the tailshaft. Sorry for the confusion.- Top
