Al Knoch is THE supplier of interior stuff, IMHO.

Install it yourself!!! Take your time... observe how the original stuff was installed. Take lots of photos of the detail stuff to use when you reinstall; how holes are cut, how the carpet is installed at the seat tracks etc.

The fun of owning one of these cars is doing the work yourself. If you get stuck just post a question on this forum and someone will give you advice and probably photo backup.

I agree, I installed an Al Knock carpet in my 66 convertible and was very happy with the look and quality of the material. One word of caution, when you mark the carpet to be trimmed, always cut above that mark. You can always trim it back. Once you've gone too far, you've gone too far. I trimmed the carpet near the console and when finally all pressed and glued in place I missed by 1/16". Most people don't notice but I do and it drives me nuts.

I didn't and even in a convertible, it gets pretty toasty. A coupe might just be unbearable.

When I install new carpet in my 68 I am going to use a product under the carpeting to help with the heat reduction inside the car to make it more comfortable during summertime road trips.

Al Knoch for sure. Even so, my 66 Convert was a bear to get right in the driver footwell. Be sure to have a good heat gun and a few money bags filled with BBs to help get that to lay down nice for you.

Had to do some playing around on the top of the rear wheelwells as well, but nothing too hard.

Have patience and measure thrice, think about cutting, measure again, have a beer, measure once more, THEN cut.

Or Reflectix. It's available at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

I used Al Knoch when I did my carpet. I was very happy with the product. If you decide to do the install yourself , there was a very good article on carpet installation in the Restorer last year. It described an easy way to cut the carpet for the seat tracks among other things.

                    Reflectix vs. Hushmat

Unless I'm mistaken the Reflectix is approx. 0.28" to 0.31" thick, compared with 0.07" for the Hushmat.
