Good example of a top flight 68 l36 car engine bay? not sure what clamps go where?

I bought a correct looking hsoe clamp kit for my 68 l36.

Problem is my aim says one thing they I'll be looking online at top flight cars and see different clamps different places than my aim.

they'll have heater hose clamps swamped with the fancy looking clamps.

I have a couple dated originals left under the hood I went ahead and just replaced them with new ones and boxed them up.

if it would help I can take a picture of my engine bay to see if I have it correct or not, I've done some HW on this with my AIM but like I said cars online who are supposed to be perfect often have their clamps different than I do.

Also some clamps are slightly differet and it's hard to tell in the AIM which ones they are, some have slots in the ring and some don't.

thanks for any help on this/

Here are some pictures of a top flight (94 point) '69 engine. Sorry, I haven't saved any '68 ones. Hopefully someone else has something better for you.

The heater hose clamps changed over the course of the 68 model year. Early cars should have Corbin spring clamps and later cars will have tower clamps. Also keep in mind they changed again later in 69 to side screw clamps. This could account for some of the difference you see when looking at pictures.

tower clamps on both ends of the hoses? a lot of cars I see have the spring ones on the firewall side and towers on the front.

My 68 is a fairly early 68 the build date is D07 which is Nov. 67.

So, I think you hit the nail on the head thats why I'm seeing it different on different 68's.

I can't say for sure that it is correct, but I think it's very possible a car could use towers clamps at engine side and spring at the firewall.
