Door handles?

Never thought I'd be so excited to see door handles before....but they're on the car now! Along with the lock and lock mechanism, and the STEERING COLUMN!!!
The car is off to the "top shop" today to get a new white vinyl soft top installed.

WOHOO!!!!!!

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, those are THE original handles that the car came with.

You'll want your vent window frames (and door glass) in place before installing the weatherstrips, adjusting the top frame, and finally installing the top.

John is 100% correct. If you dont have the A-pillar weatherstrip, vent window frames and side glass installed. Otherwise you will not be able to get a proper seal.

Can you help me understand the difference between doing that and not doing that?

The reason I ask is that the top shop has an opening for my car now, and next week they don't. And I'm trying to make the Iowa Chapter meet on Sept 12th. So, I'm on a timeline.

Chris,

it's the same as glueing a nose on a 67 with out fitting the hood and headlights your working blind without fitting those parts first. If you try to fit the parts to the top you could wind up with a few different problems. First no matter what you do you can't get a propper seal on the windows. second you will have to readjust the top frame to get the correct seal but in doing that you will change the original fit of the canvas causing several permanent wrinkles.

Thanks for posting the great photos but I would like to know how you can work on the car, take all these photos, make all your posts on this website (with photos), make trailered runs to various shops and have time to eat and sleep? You are a machine!! You must be retired.

Well, let's see......to answer your question.....I have help on the car (expert local guy, plus dad, plus college buddy of mine), I have help taking pictures (sometimes me, sometimes wife, sometimes mom), I'm a fast typist, and I pay someone to haul the car around.

I'm NOT retired, but still a machine.

The Argent Silver paint from LIC. Why, does it look too bright or something?

The paint looks fine to me, I have a set that needs to be painted for my 67.
