OT: Where can I rent a Corvette in Boston?

We are in the stages of planning our fall-vacation: we are staying in Boston first (for three days only) and will go on a cruise from there down to the Carribbean...

When in Boston we'd like to rent a Corvette for a day to take a look around. Anybody knows a rental company with Corvettes?
Google doesn't seem to provide more than just advertisments without REAL cars...

Hertz has a fleet of 2009 Corvettes -- some are convertibles. Give them a ring and see what they have in Boston.

Terry, when we were doing the plant tour in June, I would guess that 75% of the cars on the line were yellow, all destined for Hertz to fill their order for 500 Corvettes. I understand that Avis gets theirs in varying colors.

Hee Oliver - simply buy one with your euro's - these cars are cheaper than meatloaf for us Europeans (and NL Central bank believes that dollar will again go to 1.50 and over)

I'm at the Hertz lot at the Boston airport regularly. Many times I've seen yellow Corvettes on the lot. I don't know what they charge.

Maybe someone has a better fix on the daily rental, but when we were driving home from Bowling Green recently, two suits who had rented a Hertz Corvette in Dallas for a business trip to Longview were at the same hotel as us. The driver told me it rented for $245 a day. They had rented it only because it was the last car that Hertz had available.

I had previously read in a magazine that Hertz limited renters to 100 miles a day otherwise some exorbitant mileage rate kicks in. Guess that prevents you from doing the NCRS National road tour in a Hertz rental.

I'm not 100% certain about the validity of either of these items.

I would urge you to consider finding a rental away from the airport grounds. Airport rental cars are at premium rates since the local cities that own the airport grounds will additionally tax such services (hotels too).

I live about an hour from down town Pittsburgh. I would love to take the blonde out in a new yellow Corvette some day soon. Nice to know that Hertz/Avis has them available as I couldn't afford the spare tire. Oops. Well may be I could as they don't have one.

I called Hertz (in/from Germany), but they said as far they could see, their office in B. doesn't have Corvettes available (at least at that time).....

Oliver, for the San Jose convention my wife arranged the rental of a vette from Hertz. We had to fly into San francisco to get one. Only select cities have them and I don't know if boston is one. We had it for a week and milage was limited to 100/day and 30 something cents for each additional mile. With our AAA (Automobile club of america) discount the cost was about $825, including the extra 2 miles over 100/day and all taxes. Couldn't have planned being closer on milage if I tried!

Anyway, it was worth every penny AND the inconvienience of traveling to an alternative city to get one. At least when I was traveling to my inteneded destination I was in a 2008 vette!!! Good luck!!!
