    PREVIEW When We Were Young With Our Corvettes - Chapter #29

    Corvettes and Morro Bay and the Hearst Castle – Chapter #29

    EPILOG

    In 1965, Mary Jane was promoted to Home Office in Northbrook, IL in an executive position in HR. When I was promoted to Assistant VP in 1975, she was in the Officers Dining Room to welcome me. In 1993, when I was elected VP of the Life Company, she was again in the Officers Dining Room, then as a Senior Executive VP in HR to welcome me with a glass of red wine and a whisper…..whose words will never be revealed. She had been all those years, since 1961, working behind the scenes to support my career. She never remarried…and died in 2002….alone. She loved Corvettes and our trip to Morro Bay long ago when we were young and so full of life.

    How do we explain life’s twists and turns??…who stays and who goes…this was a beautiful lady whose impact on me is everlasting….debts that can’t be repaid. But we live on….as is meant to be.

        Bill;

        Very poetic conclusion to a great story about life growing up with our Vettes.

        Thanks
