58 dash pad replacement

Replacing the dash pad on a 1958 Vette. Does the pad just slide over the fiberglass dash or does it need to be glued?
I've already taken off the windshield, but I wonder if it was necessary to have done that?

Yes it is glued and you did need to remove the windshield. Do all the the the t******* and fitting first, then glue. In the past there have been some good articles in the Restorer on what to do. Don H.
