    63 Engine Stamp

Was the letter "I" used in place of the number "1" on the engine stamp pad How would an October 1st build date be displayed? Thanks,

    Seth

Yes. I have to add this extra stuff as YES is not enough letters.

      Seth -

On a '63, the stamp would read FI00IXX, where "XX" is the suffix code.

            .

Rob -- You should have seen the paint on the pad AFTER the engine rebuild .

(Anyone) -- when were the first technical manuals published by the NCRS [founded in 1974, and grudgingly admitted C2's around January of 1978 ].

Wayne: I am surprised no person has answered your question! Did the answer appear in another discussion?

Hi Tom -- wow; my post 9 years ago. AFAIK, it was never replied to (nor did I expect one). I sold the black/black 2-top FI to a good friend in the early '80s, who in turn sold it to a Corvette dealer in the north-east.

Stay tuned, I'm digging. I likely will not still have something from the very beginning of manual publication. But should have something that will give some perspective. Memory is unreliable I'm afraid.
