I'am ready to start a frame on restoration of the rear suspension of my 73, trying to get back to origianal for judging, beeding & clear coat. Can you share any info on the removal of the lower shock bracket & strut rods, do I need a special tool for the shock mount? Any help will be greatly aprpreciated.

Re: 1973 Rear Suspension
Glenn,
There is a special tool that will go over the threads and allow you to pound the lower shock mount out. It is pressed in the spindle support and you can destroy it if you try to knock it out without the tool. It's under $20.oo and worth it. Good luck, Mike- Top

Glenn----
The shock mount shafts were originally heavy zinc plated with a very "dull" finish. The strut rods were natural, as-forged. This is a very difficult finish to restore. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
