    68 interior options

I have been looking at Al Knocks and corvette americas interiors. Als is almost twice the price. The question is there that much of a difference in the products? Im sorry to bring up the names of companies, but Im about to spend alot of money and want to make the right decision.
By the way, the interior is color is gunmetal.

I don't know about any others but I purchased a set of panels from Al for my 69 and they were great. PERFECT FIT! I can also tell you that a friend of mine who does a great deal of corvette resto work will only use Al Knoch. So for whatever its worth I would likely pony up the extra cash. Although depending upon what you are shooting for with the cars final outcome It may not be worth it. So does that give you absolutely no help at all.

That seems to be what everyone has been saying. I am judging the car.
Here is another question. The orginal interior is in great shape. Not perfect but really good shape, except the rugs. Do I stay with the orginal, or go for the perfect look??????
        Still confused

You'll get a bunch of opinions on that too, but my opinion would be leave it original and change the carpets. See what happens when you get judged. My 68 has the original interior, including the rugs and I had it judged at a chapter meet once. Got a second flight, but not because of the interior. Many other things brought me down.

You can always do the whole thing later if you don't like the judging results, or better yet, if you have a chapter member nearby who volunteers, you could get his/her opinion.

IMHO, keep it original. You'll do OK with the worn original items because of what they are. You may take a slight deduction for the wear but the originality factor will balance it out. You will easliy understand when the judges start commenting of how nice it is to see the original items vs. the ones off a recent shelf that were installed.

Most repro door panels stand out like a sore thumb as to do carpets to a lesser degree. Like the others I'd much rather see decent originals rather than 'perfect' (that are not perfect) repos.
