    E69 lap belt

I have an early production 69, built in Nov 68. I am missing the little metal cap on the release push button for my lap belt. Any ideas where I might find a replacement for this?

Jim - do a search on "seatbelt sity" and you will find many hits. Guys name is Charlie, I used him for my '69 and was very happy.

        Jim,
Are you referring to the GM logon on the pushbutton? I have a Sept' built 69' and mine were missing also. I checked all over the place and I was told nobody reproduces them. I watched Ebay and finally found a poor, but complete set of belts and bought them just for the GM logo caps. I then resold what I did not use as there are many people looking for the other hardware pieces. In the end it only cost me a few $$$ and some time.

Yes Joe, I'm looking for that little round metal cap on the button and I'm guessing, as you found out, that no one is reproducing those since I believe these were the first version of a couple different lap belts used on the 69 model. I was thinking I may have to do the same thing you did. I'm wondering is that same belt was used on other early 69 models, such as the chevelle? jim

            Jim,
I think not and I am not a Chevelle expert, but I think all the other Chevy's used a square button. I believe it is a corvette only seat belt buckle that is why nobody has the parts. I found a set of buckles during my search, but the guy wanted $500 for them, just crazy that is why I went the Ebay route. I see a single female E69 buckle on ebay now, but of course the GM cap piece is missing.

            Good luck with the search.

              Jim,

I had the same problem with my early 69(Nov 68). I finally found one, some time ago, of the button covers at a swap meet that was still attached to the belt. I didn't pay much for it because it was not a Corvette only swap meet. I haven't been able to find another one since. If you look at some of theCorvette seat belt restores they show the early 69 belts, but won't sell the button separately. You just have to keep looking. Good luck with your search.

Just thought I would throw this out there. This item is on ebay now.

It does have one of the GM buttons.
